Do you ever have moments in life that are so surreal you can’t get your mind around it? I had that moment while taking Adam & Aubrey’s Morrison Ranch maternity photos! It’s absolutely crazy to think that I’m old enough to have a little photography business and use it to capture my brother & sisters-in-law’s Morrison Ranch maternity photos?! Ohh boy, time flies!
Adam & Aubrey announced to us that they were pregnant on Easter this year! And soon after we found out they were having a little girl! And we are over the moon excited for her! I can hardly believe in just a few weeks I will have a niece!
If you’ve been following along here, then you’ve been keeping your eyes peeled for this blog! We took our own family photos at Morrison Ranch again this year. You can check out that blog here! And Adam & Aubrey asked me if we could stay back to capture some maternity photos for them. Of course, I said yes!! It just made sense to do it right after, since they were already looking amazing and who wants to take maternity photos in the middle of July?! Not that this was much better … it was still TRIPLE digits, but you would never know by just looking at the photos.
Since we were coming straight from our family photos, this session has to be the *fanciest* I’ve ever been dressed while taking photos! I feel like I should be awarded a girl scout badge for running a session in heels … it was no easy feat, and oh boy did my feet pay for it later, but it was so worth it for the dreamy photos we captured!
The Urgency for these Photos
And by ‘running’ the session in heels, I mean almost literally running and racing the sun. The last bit of sun light tucked behind the trees so quickly … we were power shooting! And they rocked it! Quick poses AND an outfit change in under 20 minutes and you would be stunned with how many pictures we got! (You can see the behind-the-scenes reel on Instagram HERE.)
There was more urgency than just the sun setting, this was probably our last chance for maternity photos — When they went into the doctors last week, they told them have their bags pack for their next appointment! And while we are happy to wait another month for her due date: October 23rd … I think we all are secretly hoping she comes sooner, because we are just that excited to meet her!
It was fun to then take the clients home with me … and celebrate with our annual Fall Feast tradition and throw in a few baby gifts too! You can check out the reel recapping our night HERE.
Adam & Aubrey, you are going to make the best parents! I’m so glad we were able to capture these photos of just the two of you before you welcome your sweet girl into the world and become a family of three!
