A few days before launching my blog, I sat in quiet prayer asking God what this blog should become. And it was clear, this blog should be a place where people can find rest, peace, and joy. They should have hope and find encouragement here.
Days went by and the blog went live. I heard a piece of advice that was given to Brain Hardin on the Daily Audio Bible years ago, and I decide to take it as my own. The advice was to fly above it all.
I want to encourage people to be in a relationship with God. And with him true life, peace, joy, hope, love, and encouragement will be found. And I know that will not be found in anything I say or do that is why you need to ultimately be with Jesus.
I have been around long enough to know that the world is loud, busy, chaotic, and stressful. It can disturb my soul and leave me feeling sick. It can be exhausting and leave me fearful and anxious. I mean just look at social media.
Fly above it all. The world is already loud, I do not need to add more noise. I want you to be able to come to this blog knowing you can have a break from the busyness and chaos.
I want to look to God for my peace and encourage others to do the same.
The stories in the Bible are of sinners. The entire old testament is about watching the Israelites continuously sin. They try and do better and sin again. There is always another problem. Life continues to happen.
All throughout history this has been the case. This pattern of constant sinning will continue on until Jesus comes again.
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
From the launch of this blog until now, our world has been completely changed. Terrible things have happened. My spirit has been disturbed. My heart has been broken.
I will acknowledge these hard times and bring it to my God and wrestle with these challenges there. I do not feel it is my place to discuss them here.
Peace has not been lost. Joy still remains. Hope grows in the uncertainty.
The world does not need more noise, it needs peace and hope.
So, I will fly above it all.
