It always amazes me just how quickly September sneaks up on us and that it is already time to update our own family photos!! This year is a special one because it’s our first set of family photos with a GRANDBABY in them!!
It’s a little wild to think that my mom has had family photos taken every year since Adam was a newborn! My mom set up 4 frames on the wall in a row—one for each of us kids—and then every year she would update the photo in the frame. And she would talk about, how someday it will be 4 families on the wall. It’s crazy to start to see that dream slowly coming true.
It’s really such an honor that I get to be on the sidelines watching and photographing so many other families as they grow! I never take it lightly that I get to help capture these stories … your legacy in photos! It’s just extra special getting to help do that for my own family!
Watching My Parents Become Grandparents
It has been so fun watching my parents become grandparents … They’ve dreamed about it forever and it’s even sweeter than they imagined! I’m not sure if we are seeing a whole new side of them come out or just all their most loving parts highlighted, but they are both such softies! They will bend over backwards for little Everly Rose! Everything from Grandpa blacking out the windows to make sure she has a good nap time & assembling high-chairs and walkers to Grandma sewing bibs and quilts and going out on little baby outfit shopping sprees … and they always come back with this little smirk. Dad will say “Oh, I guess I was just hanging out with my granddaughter today.” They are living the dream! And soon, they will have TWO little grandbabies in their arms! As for Caitee, Daniel, and I we have LOVED becoming Aunties & an Uncle! We love spending time with her, playing with her, making her laugh … and we *love* getting to hand her right back to A&A when her diaper starts to stink!
Our First Time Taking Photos with a Grandbaby
So this year’s family photos were a fun one! A whole new set of photo combinations! Plus adding little baby dresses into the styling mix—so fun!
Olivia and I always swap sessions! We have laughed forever that I had the much harder part of the trade off, since she has two little boys and we are all grown adults, who smile on command! But I would always say, don’t worry it’s slowly going to change as our family grows and has grandbabies and her kiddos get easier, we will end up having the much harder session! And this is the start of it!
