Clara’s Scottsdale newborn photos was my first session back after being up north for a few weeks. And ohh my, if I haven’t fallen in love with taking photos for the sweetest families all over again! I’m so excited to be sharing Clara’s Scottsdale newborn photos on the blog today!

The Rainy Morning That Turned Into the Sweetest Newborn Session
The morning of their session it was raining… I was a little bummed that we weren’t going to have as much light for their photos because of the big, rain clouds. We walked in and their home was so cozy, little Clara was happily swinging in the corner with big smiles. Everything was so clean and perfect! I could see the nursery glowing down the hall with TONS of bright, natural light coming in from the window! It couldn’t have been more wonderful!
I seriously pinch myself that this is how I get to spend my Saturday mornings… rainy and in a cozy nursery photographing the sweetest family!
From the minute Malia reached out, I knew she was a *perfect* fit as a BG Mom! She is so kind and gentle, easy going, flexible, and just a delight to talk with … I was so eager to meet her in person! And Ryan is the same! They are already amazing parents! Clara barely made a peep the whole time I was there. But when she did, they were on it with the passie, white noise machine, and rocking her. In a moment, she was back to smiles, giggles, and all sorts of cute little baby faces! Newborn sessions like this are so calm with baby snuggles, whispers, (the rain drizzling outside the window) and my shutter quietly clicking away … it feels more like an opportunity to visit, rather than work.
Why Five Weeks Old Is Still the Perfect Time for Newborn Photos
Little Clara was only 7 pounds when she was born on June 10! She was already 5 weeks old … and such a tiny little girl! She is absolutely precious in every way! Malia was saying that it was actually wonderful to have a little time to recover and adjust to life as a family of 3 before taking her newborn photos. And I would have to agree!
I couldn’t stop ohhing and awwing over their nursery! Besides all the wonderful natural light, they did an amazing job decorating it. I LOVED all of Malia’s attention to details in it! From the lace, the little flowers, the spindly legs on the crib, the touches of embroidery, (even the color-coded bookshelf), it was darling!
Even Clara’s little dress had the sweetest embroidered detailing on it with a tiny little tulip… so cute! Malia was saying that back in December, when they had just found out they were pregnant she was back home with her mom in Georgia shopping and they found that little dress for her! How special that she was able to wear it for her newborn photos!
I was in the Car & Then Came Back for More Photos
I could have stayed and photographed their family all day! I got in the car after saying goodbye and Caitee turned to me and said “Did you see the light in the crib? Did you want to take a few more with just Clara in there?”
That was the first time I’ve ever walked back into someone’s home and said “If she’s still dressed, do you want to take a few more?” and I’m so glad they said “YES!” … because those last few photos of Clara in her crib might be some of my favorites from the whole session!” (all thanks to Caitee!)
We were laughing, the running joke is that I always say ‘just one more’ and end up taking 10 more… but this is the first time I’ve ever left and turned right back around to take a few more! Some sessions are just TOO good to stop!
And wow it was so tricky narrowing it down to just a few to share today! So enjoy scrolling through Clara’s Scottsdale newborn session photos!
