10 am Friday morning, Jessie sent me the sweetest text … Amelia Grace has made her arrival!! I couldn’t be happier for them! She sent the sweetest pictures of them in the hospital and I felt so honored to get to capture little Amelia’s lifestyle newborn photos.
A few months ago, I was walking out of church and Jessie shouted from across the way … “Are you Bethie?! I stumbled across your Instagram the other day and thought, that looks like the girl who sits a few rows in front of us at church.” After taking the Webb’s family photos (who also sit right behind us at church) & now Jessie & Drew’s, I’m thinking I should start posting more photos of the back of my head.
Jessie & Drew are the sweetest people … SO easy to be around, the kind of people you feel like you’ve known for years the moment you meet them. They are both so kind, warm, positive, and quietly hilarious.
Even as they were telling me about the crazy ups & downs of Amelia’s birth & how pretty much nothing went as expected. They said it with a smile on their faces and so much gratitude.

It’s so fun watching them become parents … they are naturals! They handled the tears, spit up, and two big poos with such ease! And the photos came out so darling!! Drew and I were laughing, no one will ever really know the crazy reality behind these dreamy photos! But they handled it like pros!
And they have such good help too … Jessie’s mom, Chris, is in town for the week. This is her 4th little grandbaby! She is fondly known now as the 5 am crew!
There were a few special moments during the session, when Jessie’s eyes (& her sweet mom’s too) would fill with tears … the surreal feeling to be holding her sweet little girl, already a week old. The goal was to tell their story through these lifestyle newborn photos and to capture every sweet little bit of this very fleeting season. From the way she looks so tiny in dad’s arm, kisses from mom, down to her little toes! It really is such an honor to get to capture it all for them.
And I loved getting to meet Sweet Amelia! I just fell in love with her instantly. It’s so easy to forget how precious and tiny and squishy newborns are. I could’ve stayed and taken her photos all day long! I’m so glad we were able to capture such sweet photos of them in this new season of life!
