This blog is a special one for me…
When I was little, I used to love visiting my grandparents’ house and looking through all of my grandma’s old photographs. I would sit in front of the side board looking at all the special moments of my grandma’s life framed. Seeing the photos of my grandma in her wedding dress and the two of them just married and cutting the cake, made my little heart flutter.

I would flip through her old photo albums that were sitting on the self, that were left in her guest room waiting for me. I loved seeing photos of my dad meeting my mom for the first time. I could look back in time at the two of them falling in love and getting married. And the photos of them traveling the world together… It didn’t matter where they were as long as they were together their smiles would beam with joy!
I fell in love with the love story of my parents and grandparents through these sweet photos!
And now, it’s an honor to be the one to tell the next chapter of their story through photographs at their Pinetop photo session. My grandparents are in town for a month (because a weekend just isn’t long enough). And this past weekend when they visited the cabin up in Pinetop, we snuck outside while the light was the dreamiest, to take a few photos.
It was my first time shooting on the golf course up in Pinetop, under the big pine trees, and I loved it! We were hoping it might even snow a little for the photos, but by the time we went out, it had all melted away. It was still so nice to capture their legacy through these sweet photos up north.
For Christmas last year, we gifted my grandma with a subscription to Storyworth. Every week she has been writing the stories of her life. She has shared all of her favorite stories of growing up on the farm, raising my dad and aunt, and now all the stories of us grandkids. It has been so amazing to have her legacy written down for generations to come to read. And I’m so excited to have these photos to add to it!
I love the thought of capturing someone’s legacy through photographs. I love being able to share the love story of other sweet couples and families, who are in such a special season of life with just the two of them and families who are leaving a legacy behind!
This is really the heart behind BGP and why I just LOVE, shooting portrait sessions!
My grandparents have been married for 56 years now. And I’m so grateful, I was able to continuing sharing their visual love story up at this Pinetop photo session.
These are photos I (and someday my future children & and grandchildren) will treasure forever!
