Kaitlyn & Josh’s beautiful December Tre Bella wedding was 6 years in the making!! They started dating back in 2016 and now they made it official!!! Kaitlyn & Josh flew out from Texas for their wedding! They both grew up here, but moved out to Texas for work in 2020. And so, they decided to come back and get married out here in Arizona with all their family! You can read more about their story HERE from their Morrison Ranch engagement session.
Their December wedding day was so beautiful and intimate! From the gorgeous winter colors with the burgundy and navy to the excitement and love throughout the day, it could not have been a more perfect wedding!
One thing I loved was how they had built so many sweet moments in the day, just for the two of them. Before the ceremony, they shared the sweetest first look. As I was getting Josh set up for the first look he said, “Is it bad that I don’t feel emotional?” I let him know that most grooms don’t actually get emotional and that’s okay. But then as soon as he saw how beautiful Kaitlyn was, he couldn’t help be teary eyed. Such a sweet moment! His mom had also asked for a minute alone with Josh and Kaitlyn before the ceremony, where she gave each of them gifts. A beautiful bracelet for Kaitlyn to wear during the ceremony and cuff links for Josh that she had customized.
Kaitlyn and Josh had both their ceremony and reception at Tre Bella. It was a very urban wedding, being in the heart of Downtown Mesa. You could hear the light rail go by and the hustle of people walking down Main Street. The layout of Tre Bella was so nice! Since it was a smaller venue, everything was conveniently close which made shooting their wedding a breeze! Not to mention, right after the ceremony we were able to sneak Josh and Kaitlyn over to the Mesa Center of the Arts to take some AMAZING just married portraits!! Let me tell you, they rocked it with their posing, especially with how quickly the sun was setting and we captured so many STUUNING photos of them in Downtown Mesa!!
Kaitlyn had emailed me a few days after Thanksgiving and said that her Grandpa had passed away. So, heartbreaking for her and her family! It’s so hard to lose a loved one in the midst of the holidays, but just before their wedding was even harder. You could really feel a hole in their wedding day by not having him around. But all the little touches of recognition for him throughout the day, made for the sweetest memorial.
It was an absolute honor to capture Kaitlyn & Josh’s Tre Bella wedding! I’m still in awe of how beautiful, their urban December wedding was and I have been counting down the hours until I could share this beauty on the blog!! Enjoy my many, many favorites!!!
