There are some sessions I photograph that just feel extra special … and the Padilla’s Family Photos at the Riparian was definitely one of them!

I met Kiyomi and the girls last year and got to take photos of the three of them at Coons Bluff! Orlando ended up having to travel for work, so it turned into a mommy & me session … and wow was it so sweet! Kiyomi and I were talking that maybe one of our favorite photos from that session was the 3 of them having a little dance party out in the desert. Not only is it what they do all the time, but it was so beautiful and dreamy!
It really is so special getting to photograph families year after year. Little Emiko who is 3-years-old now came running up to me full speed and gave me a great big hug! And Eliana who is 6-years-old is just so sweet!! I loved getting to chat with her and she really is the best big sister! Not only was she smiling for every single photo, but she was the best helper in getting a real smile from Emiko!! I just love how close the two of them are!
Kiyomi reached out and said “Is there any chance you are available on October 17th? We are getting ready to move back to Texas at the end of October. We would LOVE to have one more session with you before then!” Of course, we had to make it happen!!
About The Padilla’s Family Photos at the Riparian
This time I didn’t just get to meet Orlando, I also got to meet Kiyomi’s parents AND her grandparents flew out from California for these photos! How amazing is that? I was seriously impressed when all 8 of them showed up photo-ready by 7 am!
And it was a perfect morning with cloudy skies … I even showed up in a sweater! We were laughing that the sky was so in our favor! We were able to take photos in front of the big Saguaro cacti (in a spot we couldn’t have used if it were blue skies). Those photos really turned out to be some of my favorites ! They really are a perfect farewell to their time out in Arizona!
Honestly, we enjoyed our nice slow morning taking the Padilla’s Family Photos at the Riparian, not having to rush against the light! It flew by with singing Frozen songs, playing the reggie the hippo (who is a very loved teddy and made it last year’s family photos too!), bird watching, drawing in the dirt, kisses, twirls, looking for bunnies, and just all around sweet memories.
I hope you enjoy scrolling through a few of my favorites from the Padilla’s Family Photos at the Riparian!!
