My Approach to Rescheduling Family Sessions
Honestly, I thought for sure we would be rescheduling this session … a HUGE dust storm rolled in a few hours before we planned to meet. The sky was dark & the winds were so aggressive! We even had a bit of rain. There was no sign of it stopping.
But I hate canceling family sessions, because it is so much work to coordinate schedules, get yourself ready, getting littles ready .. that’s why in my opinion it is better to move forward with the session & see how it plays out & if we don’t get any good ones, come back another day.
I’m glad I stuck with that, because as I was driving over to the session, the storm stopped. It was quiet and peaceful. The sun came out and we were left with just a little breeze. The best part, however, is that the day was super hazy and the wind pushed it all away … and we were left with clear blue skies, which meant lots of glow!!
The session was at Tumbleweed Ranch in Chandler. It has been years since I’ve last shot there & I still love it! It is the perfect mix of farmhouse with a little rustic charm … it feels vintage & so quaint. Plus, we found a little path on the side that made for the sweetest green garden photos! We captured so many darling photos there.
Melissa pulled off this session in a WEEK & she rocked it! Their outfits were so beautiful! Mix their perfect outfits, with the now perfect day, and the sweetest family, and this darling location & you get the dreamiest photos!
And let me tell you, the this Tumbleweed Ranch family session flew by! Once we started talking we couldn’t stop… everything from how we attend the same church, just different locations, to swapping Sicily, Italy travel tips and everything in between!
It’s never lost on me how much of an honor it is to capture such special photos for my BG Families … it’s just a MAJOR perk that I get to work with some of the BEST people & their sweet little ones!
