Ryan and I talked on the phone as we were driving over to photograph Chelsea & Kyle’s Troon North Golf Club Wedding, looking at the massive storm clouds and hoping they might just pass over us. She said she kept looking at different weather apps, and was planning for the one that said it would storm all day, but really hoping for the one that said the storm would break for a couple hours. Nonetheless, we packed up all our clear umbrellas and met up with Chelsea at the girls Airbnb.
Chelsea was so easy going and stayed calm, despite the storm that continued to roll in! Honestly, with Chelsea having such an open mind with however the day played out made all the difference! When we arrived at Troon North the storm reached its peak. So, unfortunately, we started making plans to move the ceremony under covering. We ran around Troon North looking for covered areas to have their first look and bridal party portraits. And in 15 minutes, by the time I was heading over to meet Kyle for his portraits, THE STROM STOPPED and the sun came out!!
Kyle made the last-minute call to move the ceremony back outside to its original spot. And skies stayed clear with bright blue skies and sunshine all the way until their reception, which was indoors! So, they were able to have ALL their beautiful wedding day portraits AND their ceremony with clear skies!! And we didn’t even pull out the umbrellas once!!
I always tell my couples who have rain on their wedding day, that they are lucky ones and doubly blessed… because when a knot gets wet it becomes so tight it is impossible to untie it!
When you scroll through Chelsea & Kyle’s Troon North Golf Club wedding portraits, you can see drops of rain and the coming storm clouds after their ceremony… but if you just look at Chelsea & Kyle, all of that melts away. It was truly such a joy to capture their day with Ryan Nicole. Rain and all!!!
