I’m so excited to be sharing Abigail and Sheridan’s Paradise Valley Wedding on the blog today!! I saw their engagement photos on Instagram HERE and just gushed over them! They were so dreamy playing chess and reading books in the rainy forest in Flagstaff. Only a few minutes later, I got a text from Meggin with Pinkerton Photography Associates asking if I was available to a second shoot for their wedding!! What?! Of course, I jumped on that!
And Abigail and Sheridan are just as sweet (or even sweeter!) in real life as they are in their engagement photos! It was a joy to get to capture their wedding day! Abigail was so fun and easygoing and so flexible with everything and she has the best laugh! And Sheridan was maybe one of the easiest grooms I’ve ever worked with! Such a sport! He was just as easygoing and fun as Abby and as a bonus, he was natural in front of the camera! And the two of them were just so cute and lovely together! Everything they did was photogenic and it made our job so easy!
If I were to describe Abigail and Sheridan in two words, it would be: classic and timeless. All of the details for their day were so classic, I just loved it! Everything was so timeless from her cream, lace wedding dress; her pearls; the bridesmaids’ pearls; to their music with the traditional jazz and big band. They even had a cream Mustang!! Seriously a dream for photos!
Building in time just for the two of you:
The other thing, I just loved about their day was how they intentionally built in time for just the two of them into their timeline! They had such a special first look … they both cried, prayed together, and took their time just enjoying it! No hurry or rush. It’s so nice to have the space to relieve all the pressure on the wedding day beforehand. And if you are a future bride planning for your own wedding day, just a side note that their first look didn’t take away from the aisle moment one bit! If anything, I would say it maybe made it all the more special, and both Abigail and Sheridan cried again when she was walking down the aisle!
And after the ceremony, they just enjoyed being together and having space with just the two of them during their husband and wife portraits! We have so many beautiful portraits from this part of the day! But my favorite photos might just be when we took them out to the middle of the road and took a few photos in front of Camelback Mountain! Their venue, Camelback Bible Church, backs up right next to Camelback Mountain! And the sun was just perfect right as we were wrapping up to take a few photos with the mountain perfectly lit! It looked so grand!
From there, they took a break from the heat – the weather was in TRIPPLE DIGITS all day, and you would never even know it looking at these photos! – and enjoyed a private dinner before their grand entrance and enjoyed their reception. And they closed the night with a private last dance in their reception space, before running through the sparkler exit! You can tell during the dance they were just soaking in all of it … shocked that they were not only MARRIED but that their wedding day was coming to an end!
I just love how they had so many moments throughout the day to go and celebrate with friends and family and then come back together and enjoy just a few minutes alone!
It was a joy to second shoot for Meggin Grace Photography who was associate shooting for Pinkerton Photo! Enjoy scrolling through Abigail and Sheridan’s Paradise Valley Wedding!
