The Thiel’s Cotton Field Photos were such a dream! And you know it was a good session, when hours after sending only a few sneak peeks you get a text from the hubby saying, “Kristin won’t stop staring at the photos.”
Me too, Kristin!!
Sometimes, I think God is just too good to me!! The Thiel’s family photos has been a bucket list session for a while now… And let me just say it could not have turned out any dreamier!!
I know I had said that my own family’s photos were my faves, but this session is right up there with it!
The Theil’s are my cousins and I have been eager to take their photos for years now! The problem was that the Gracie and Owen were just too little and I was just too new of a photographer to take on working with little babies!
So, we were all so excited when we finally put a date on the calendar in March for sweet spring photos. Unfortunately, with COVID all plans were changed, but looking back it all turned out for the better!
I always let my clients choose the location for the photos. Kristin mentioned how she has always wanted photos in a cotton field. So, we made it a mission to find one. Turns out it is not that easy to find a cotton field you can take pictures in. You need permission, not in bloom, too far of a travel, it might be over 100 degrees outside, yada, yada, yada.
BUT while searching we drove past the most perfect cotton field… It was in bloom, perfectly white and golden with big mountains in the background! And there happened to be two men standing right by the field. Thank goodness I was with my dad, otherwise I would never had stopped to talk with two complete strangers on the side of the road.
But they were super sweet and gave us permission to use the neighbors cotton field!
What? Who does that?? But we’ll take it!
And the session was just as perfect as the photos! The weather was gorgeous and breezy, kids happy and easy, and the light was perfectly glowly!
I’m so so grateful for sessions like these that are sweet, easy, and fun! And it’s definitely a perk to work with people I love!
